Pyramid Expeditions has 45 years of experience, and has gained the reputation as one of the best in trekking and climbing services in Perú. The business was formed in 1968 in Huaraz, Perú, by the Morales family, with Eudes Morales Flores and Zoila Velasquez as today’s managers. Pyramid is the local outfitter for Wilderness Travel, U.S.A., and DAV Summit Club, Germany.

To service the needs of Andean adventuring, the Morales family has worked for many years to develop Pyramid Expeditions into a first class guiding service, supplying the best guides, cooks, porters, camp guards, food, equipment and transportation, as well as arranging hotel accommodation. The Morales family is ready and willing to help you organize a great expedition in the Cordilleras Blanca, Huayhuash, and Raura, as well as the Cuzco, Puno and Arequipa regions. Pyramid Expeditions offers ready-made tours or will help you to design your own. Some of the favorite tours already available are the one week trek through the Santa Cruz Valley and finishing in Vaqueria, Llanganuco, and the two- week Alpamayo Circuit trek, from Hualcayán (Cholin) to the Ulta Valley, both in the Cordillera Blanca, as well as the 14-16 days circumnavigation trek around the Cordillera Huayhuash. All treks travel through the most beautiful areas of the Andes, with views of turquoise lakes below the glacial peaks of Alpamayo, Huascarán and Yerupajá. The best time to visit is May through September, with June, July and August as the best mountaineering months when the sky is clearest.

Pyramid Expeditions can arrange and guide the range of trips, from trekking to mountain climbing and film expeditions. Pyramid Expeditions also offers a variety of bus excursions to archeological sites, high alpine lakes and thermal baths, the Inka trail from Cusco to Machu Picchu, and trips to the Amazon Jungle.

Pyramid Expeditions took the initiative to develop the first radio satellite communication system between Huaraz and their trekking and climbing groups in order to ensure clients’ safety. In 2002 Pyramid Expeditions organized the entire logistics for the BBC production of the re-enactment of “Touching the Void,” the mountain climbing epic accident, with Joe Simpson and Simon Yates.
