Itinerary

Day 1

LIMA. Reception of the group of tourists at Jorge Chavez airport – Lima, transfer to the hotel chosen by the group in the city of Lima.

Day 2

LIMA – HUARAZ. Departure from lima 7:30 am from Lima city early in the morning by bus eight hours approx. to Huaraz. The first part of the trip following an arid desert coast with evidence of the growing urban population of Peru in several human settlements, passing the cities of Chancay, Huacho, Huaura, in the city of Barranca the seafood lunch, from the town of Pativilca we head towards the mountains, climbing from 150 masl to the Cono Cocha pass (4100 masl), we have a first glimpse of snow capped mountains like the Caullaraju mountain (5680 masl) and the Huayhuash mountain range, then we start descending north to the city of Huaraz (3100m), the heart of the Peruvian Andes. Overnight in hotel – dinner.

Day 3

First day of acclimatization: HUARAZ – WILCAHUAIN. Huaraz located at 3100masl capital of the Ancash region and the trekking center of the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Huayhuash. The trek starts in the city of Huaraz visiting the Jose Olaya street, the only street that remains of Huaraz before the earthquake of 1970, then ascends to the area of Huacrahirca from where you can see the Cordillera Blanca and the Huandoy mountains, Huascaran, Vallunaraju, Churup and Huatsan, we follow the road through the lower part of the town of Huanchac, then passing the villages of Jinua and Paria, we will visit the pre-Inca temple of ICHIC WILCAHUAIN, an architectural complex of the WARI culture (1100 A.D.), then we will visit the temple of ICHIC WILCAHUAIN, an architectural complex of the WARI culture (1100 A.D.),  then we will visit the main temple of WILCAHUAIN, where we will visit the corridors and constructions in the form of labyrinths of three levels, which are oriented to the sunset, southern cross and towards the sunrise, we will also visit the small exhibition hall of ceramics of this civilization.  Afterwards, we will start walking towards the town of San Miguel de Recrish, from this town we will start walking downhill, which will take us about 2 hours to the thermal baths of Monterrey, then we will take a relaxing bath in the pools of these thermal waters of curative properties. Return to Huaraz by bus. End of service.

Day 4

HUARAZ – CHURUP LAGOON; Second day of acclimatization: Departure with private transportation to the east of the city of Huaraz to Pitec, passing the villages of Unchus 3300 m. Town of Llupa 3500 m. Then we will arrive to Pitec 3850 m. From where we have a panoramic view of the central part of the Cordillera Blanca and then we start with the hike entering the trail we ascend to 4450 m above sea level where is located the lagoon of beautiful colors called Churup approx. 3 hours of walking, on the way we climb some rocky areas. The Churup Lagoon is a classic destination in Huaraz for a good acclimatization, then return to the city of Huaraz. End of our service.

Day 5

HUARAZ – CAMP MORAINE YANAPACCHA (4900 m)

Duration: 07 hours approx.

Trip to the northern part of Huaraz, in the tour you can appreciate landscapes and cities of the Callejon de Huaylas, along the Santa River, the first stop is in the town of Anta to photograph the mountains of Huandoy, Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Copa, Urus and Vallunaraju, then continuing the tour through the towns of Marcara, Acopampa then we will have our second stop in the city of Carhuaz, which is located in the town of Carhuaz, Acopampa then we will have our second stop in the city of Carhuaz, which is characterized by its traditional customs and typical costumes, we will visit the main square and the church of San Pedro and delight the rich ice cream made of fruit typical of Carhuaz and the valley of Huaylas. The trip continues to the north and visit the old city of Yungay (2500 m), this city disappeared after the earthquake by an avalanche of the snowy Huascaran on May 31, 1970, today called campo santo de Yungay, in this place only remained as silent witnesses of this tragedy 04 palm trees and the image of white Christ at the top of the cemetery. Currently the new city of Yungay is located 1 km. To the north of the holy field. From Yungay we will start our ascent by bus, towards the east and we will arrive to the LLanganuco ravine and we will visit the beautiful turquoise green lagoon called CHINAN COCHA (3850 m.) ORCON COCHA, famous lagoons in Peru, located in the Huascaran National Park. This magnificent natural scenery is located in a narrow glacial valley and a sub tropical climate, between the Huascaran (6,768 m) and Huandoy (south peak 6,160 m) Chacraraju (6112 m), Chopicalqui (6354 m).

The route is between enormous walls and diverse species of the high Andean flora. You will observe dense forests of queñual (polilepis), alders, waterfalls of pure and crystalline waters making it a true natural paradise. After 4 hours of bus ride we will start climbing to Yanapaccha Moraine Camp (4900masl) for about 3 more hours with the help of the guide and carried the mountain equipment and food by the porters, at the moraine camp, we will check our climbing equipment to leave ready for the next morning camp.5 hrs. Day 6

MORRAINA CAMP – YANAPACCHA SUMMIT

Duration: 08 hours approx.

This day breakfast is very early at 03:00 hours, then around 03:30 hours we will start to climb on the stony road 40 minutes to reach the snow, then we start the ascent to the summit of the mountain Yanapaccha for about 3 – 4 hours approximately and reach 5460 m, where we can enjoy stunning photographic views of mountains like Chacraraju, Pisco, Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Contrahierbas, Huandoy, Pisco, Pyramid. Then we start descending led by an expert mountain guide to the moraine camp for about 3 hours approximately, lunch at the camp, free afternoon and dinner, sleep at Yanapaccha Moraine Camp. 4 hrs. Day 7

MORRENA CAMP – HUARAZ

Duration: 06 hours approx.

After the last breakfast in the Moraine Camp of Yanapaccha, we will descend to the Portachuelo Curve, there our private vehicle will be waiting for us to transfer us to the city of Huaraz – hotel.  End of service.5/6 hrs. B.L
